Welcome! ARVDHeart for Hope, a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was created in 2010 to help raise awareness of arrythmogenic cardiomyopathy, or ACM, heart disease (sometimes referred to as ARVD, ARVD/C and ARVC) and to support the ACM research program at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center in Tucson, Arizona, to facilitate the detection, treatment and prevention of ACM.

ACM is an inherited, rare form of heart disease that causes the muscular tissue of the right ventricle, and sometimes the left ventricle, of the heart to be progressively replaced with fatty, fibrous tissue which can result in irregular heart rhythms.

OUR MISSION includes:

  • Increasing awareness of ACM heart disease
  • Promoting and raising funds for the ACM research program at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center in Tucson, AZ
  • A source where individuals diagnosed with ACM can obtain helpful, current information about this heart disease
  • A tribute to our amazing 35 year old daughter, Lindsey, who was diagnosed with ARVD in November 2006
  • To advocate placement of AEDs (automated external defibrillators) and a
CPR/AED program in all schools to help prevent sudden cardiac death in children and adults.

To date, ARVDHeart for Hope has raised over $14,000.00 for ACM research at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center.

Our web site has information about ACM heart disease to help you learn about this condition and give you hope. You can contact us at any time.
